God has planted us on the corner of S. Jackson and Jefferson for a purpose--to lift up Jesus Christ, introduce people to Him, and love one another. Here are some of the things that form our DNA.
The Bible is the only standard of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ and for His church. The Bible alone is infallible and complete, and so learning what the Word of God says and how it applies to our life is foundational to us at Skiff.
We preach the Written Word to reveal the Living Word--Jesus.
God's Word is at the center of our worship services, Sunday school classes, small groups, kids ministries youth minisitries, and everything at Skiff.
God's heartbeat is "love them, love them, love them..." It was out of this love that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be the Savior of the World. We desire to have this same heartbeat in bringing the Good News of Salvation through Jesus to ends of the world and to our neighbors across the street.
Sending and supporting missionaries around the world through faithful prayer and financial giving is a bedrock of Skiff. The Gospel must go to the ends of of the earth.
We also know we are commissioned to live the missionary life here in Jackson County. The Gospel must go across the street. Missions is Glocal.
We are called to Love God with our everything and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We also also called to love one another with the same love that Christ loves us with. The world will know that we are Christians by our love for one another.
God is calling us to be a family of faith on this corner--knowing one another, loving one another, and serving one another. We desire to show this love by together working to meet the real needs of real people in real ways through love and acts of service.
